Let’s be real: does anyone like wearing maternity clothing? And that’s because we’ve all had the grim dressing room experience of staring down a drab, shapeless pair of maternity pants and wondering, “Is this really it??” After not being able to find a single pair of maternity activewear leggings during her pregnancy, Berkley Clothing co-founder Loren resorted to the classic desperation move of pregnant women everywhere: she bought a pair of regular workout pants two sizes bigger than normal and hoped for the best. Of course, they didn’t really fit and certainly didn’t look good. After lots more tears in lots more fitting rooms, she shared her struggle with her best friend Hillary, and together they set out to create Berkley – a clothing line designed to make women feel beautiful, confident and most importantly, themselves, before, during, and after pregnancy.
